Resident Evil 6 Game Review

Resident Evil 6. I believe I’ve waited about 3 years for this game to come out since beating Resident Evil.  I downloaded the demo right away and loved it. Unfortunately prior to the midnight release I read probably the worse game reviews I’ve ever seen. One video game site rated it 0.1 out of 10. How in the hell do you give a game a 0.1? The demo alone was atleast a 7.5. As long as the game turns on it should get a default 5/10 I mean come on. I think Capcom pissed everybody off or something. Not to mention this is there most money making franchise and they’ve spent more money on this game than any other game produced by the studio. These reviews were just hurtful…. but not this one. This is a real review, my rebutal. My thank you to Capcom for making such an incredible game!

It really brings back the dark and scary tones to the game. Made me jump a few times but creeped me out most of the game except well lit daylight sections which just focus on the action capacity of the game. I still say they strayed more towards action but it is still a creepy scenario to be in.

The prelude to the game is amazing. Very intense, dramatic, and fast paced. Gonna be honest I was a little let down when you click start and the announcerr doesnt say “RESIDENT…EVIL…6!!!” like all the previous games do. And then I beat the prelude and he does it in a very epic way to officially start the game. Way to make us “wait for it” lol.

Alot of people complained about the controls. I like the convenience and less overwhelming focus on items and upgrades. Honestly my complaint would be the pause feature not being available all the time. I mean serious sometimes I have to step away to use my phone or the bathroom.

This game is jam packed with action, crazy scenarios and some pretty cool chase scenes . While their still a little stingy on the ammo side it helps you stay conservative and focus more on accuracy.

So far we’ve only beat Chris and Pierce scenario which is nothing short of amazing except one part I address in the spoilers below.  Their mode alone could have been an entire game and I would have been satisfied but lucky for me Capcom was generous enough to give us two more to go. The confrontations between the other characters is incredibly well implemented in the game. I do like the characters but I think it would have been nice to give us Claire instead of Marlene, and Jill instead of Pierce but the guy really grows on you. The three different stories is also a great edition especially for a conclusion to the saga (if it is).

Gameplay 9.5/10

Storyline 9.5/10

Graphics 10/10

Scare factor 10/10

I give this game 10 out of 10 Staaaaaars! – (see what I did there)

==========================SPOILER ALERT===========================

Would have gave the story telling 10/10 but Ada’s “death” was random and I really hope it doesnt stick. I did get a good laugh out of it but I dont think thats what they were going for.

Would have also liked to see the return of Albert Wesker. Definitely one of my favorite characters of the series. If you beat RE5 in professional mode he emerges from the lava. He even came back in the Re5 movie

NBA 2K13 Game Review

So October 2nd two great games dropped. Resident Evil 6 (review coming soon) and NBA 2K13.  It seems since 2K11 and having the Jordan challenge, the rival competition of NBA Live has fallen off. Maybe trying to regroup. 2K has other great sales tactics in the past like selling there game $20 cheaper than Live’s and I think it has now officially paid off. NBA 2k is now dominant.

Same gameplay as over the years except this years allows you to integrate the connect and that feature is incredible. You can call plays, call timeouts, bring people in off of the bench. Its very useful seeing as you can only control one person and trying to call a play involves your character usually sitting still.

Best Features  – I do like the My Career mode when its not glitching. For a full week the Xbox 360 slims were not able to advanced past the first match on My Career mode, the game would freeze. It was fixed yesterday And I love it. I like the interview process meeting the GM’s of the team and the drafts really realistic. People even tweet you after the games. Its pretty sick.

Executive Produced by Jay-Z I love that it has some classic Jay-Z songs, some new ones, and then it seems like some of his favs. However one song busts him out that he bit yet another line from Biggie. Biggie goes “Tyson, Jackson, Jordan” reffering to the Michaels. But I do like how Kanye flips that line on the Good Music album and adds Michael Phelps to the list of legendary Michaels.

Fails – The VC. Videogame credits.  Its the currency for everything. Updating your character in the My Career mode, either in attributes or fashion. Buying more characters for the My Team mode (very expensive) and boosters. But their sooo cheap in doing so. And then Microsoft capatilizes off this by offering them for purchase in the market place but man I already paid $60 for this game I shouldn’t have to pay any more to boost my character stats or unlock more players but the only option is play more matches which gives you around 25-200 vc. When upgrades cost 500-20000 vc you can see how this becomes a bit frustrating. And as a beginner like myself you may get the 25 vc per game more often then desired.

Cheats – Play a key game or the rookie game in My Career, make sure to play really well. Save seconds before the game ends and exit, load up, finish the game. The VC gain will save to the server just before the press conference. When the conference starts hard exit the game.
Boom you have the VC and are still saved with seconds left in the game. Just keep loading and exiting at the conference for as much quick and easy VC as you want.

7.5 k in half an hour

Story mode – Career mode 7/10

Addictiveness – 10/10

Gameplay 8/10

Overall I give this game a 8.5/10.  With a higher VC boost and minus a glitch that set me back for a week I woul have gave it a 9.5

Add me on Xbox Live “It’s Tone”
